AMORY LEADER

WHAT COFFEE DO YOU DRINK?

It varies, you have to adapt to the environment. I mean I like a flatwhite but I wouldn't order it in a gas station. Actually I really like the way they serve coffee in Italy, not too much milk, especially for cappuccino. but at home it's gallons of red label lavazza through a drip filter.

WHAT DO YOU DO?

I'm a music composer for film and TV

COOLEST ACHIEVEMENT?

Finding a job that motivates and inspires me 24/7/365

BIGGEST CHALLENGE?

I've faced some tough challenges in the past, whether working or just in life, everyone has their own unique situation and things they go through and it's all relative. But I really believe the biggest challenge should be the one directly ahead. Currently I'm working on two different films and studying a Masters in my spare time, sometimes it seems like an impossible workload, but the hardest part of wanting to achieve is actually to not neglect the rest of your life, to maintain those relationships that mean the most, so the biggest challenge is finding that balance - I'm not there yet...

BEST ADVICE?

Both in yourself and the world around you, seek knowledge, strive for understanding, and consciously use the present for positive action to build for a better future.

Amory is a dude. Amory met through a cafe I used to work at, and bonded over film - as I'm an actress and he writes music scores for them!

I love how enthusiastic he is about stuff in general, and has even helped me out with some TGITC sound work - AND also takes me skateboarding!

Amory has played the cello and piano since a young age, so no wonder he can read and write music like a master.  Currently he's working on four feature films back to back about the Gospels, filmed in Morocco Directed by David Batty. You can imagine the emotive classical pieces for that.

I feel like he's experienced a shift in the last few years, and its so cool to see him killing it in his music work.  I've been privileged enough to hear some of his epic scores before they've been released on film and epic they are. They're incredible! Make the hairs on your arms stick up. Multi-instumental pieces of emotional audio art. What's more exhilarating, is hearing him talk about the feeling he gets when he's in a room somewhere in the world, actually directing, watching and hearing an orchestra or band play the music he wrote! He's tells it with such gratitude, it makes me envious to know what it feels like. But that is all his, and that shit's real.

Check it out. #4Real
